National Parks

I rejoice in Creation, and especially in National Parks. Oh, the glorious peaks of Grand Teton National Park, and the vibrant colors of Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon! My heart leaps at Redwood National Park.
In 2001 I was fortunate to be invited to spend a month as artist-in-residence at Crater Lake National Park. At the time I was reading Dr. Masaru Emoto’s “The Hidden Messages in Water” and I became fascinated with water crystals, seen in several works I painted there.
Zion National Park, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, are two of my favorite plein-air painting destinations, and I have returned to them many times.
The southern border of the woodland surrounding my studio near Ashland abuts the exceptionally diverse Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. It has long been my hope that one day, my studio will become a visitor center or lodge for the Monument.
